UNICEF Child protection team visited to Varuthalaivilan to meet female children.
Unicef asked us to meet and discuss with teen age girls. We SOND MRE team made the arrangement for the meeting and we have selected Varuthalaivilan GN division.
Ms.Songha Child protection KMCO (Colombo) and Mr.Suthan Child protection officer (Kilinochi) came and met the teenage girls on December 13th, 2017.
They had discussion with them. They discussed about their schooling, mensuration, what they are doing in the children club meeting, if they are stressful to whom they will speak regarding their problems.
What are the challenges they are facing ect. Two girls sing songs individually and among them one girl sang and danced for a song. As per the children request one of our staff also sang a song for them. And the children played a game.
Finally Ms.Songha gave a message for them that if they are worrying about something they should share with someone who is their trustworthy person like Mother, Father, Sister, Brother, Teacher and Friend. Or write your problem on a paper and throw it away. Don’t keep the worries inside and feel alone. That’s not good for them.
