Monthly Meeting of DIRC Committee

The monthly meeting of Jaffna District Inter Religious Committee under the Pluralistic Action for Conflict Transformation (PACT) program implemented by SOND with the funding of National Peace Council was held today at SOND office with the leadership of Executive Director Mr.S. Senthurajah.
The meeting was organized and conducted by the field coordinator of the project, Ms.Jency Victor.
The activities carried out in 2021 and 2022 and future activities were discussed in the meeting.

Transparency International Srilanka visited our Organization on 11.01.2023 to carry out an organizational assessment to implement a program related to the Right to Information Act. Some of its records can be seen in the pictures.

 

 

Distribution of Portable Stoves

50 selected beneficiaries in J/81 were given 2 portable  stoves per family on 10.01 2023 through the project of providing efficient cook stoves to reduce carbon emissions implemented by SOND with the help of C Quest.

 

 

C Quest Company Visit

2 portable stoves per family were provided to J/81 GS Division  selected beneficiaries under the Project of providing carbon reducing Efficient Stoves Project implemented by SOND with the help of C Quest.

After the Distribution of stoves, it can be seen in the pictures that the stoves that were built were supervised and the C Quest company officials along with SOND Team. Finally they had a discussion with the SOND Organization Executive Director and staff.

 

 

Demo on Constructing Stoves

Through the project ” Providing Efficient Cookstoves”  implemented by SOND and funded by CQUEST 2 Awareness meetings were conducted to J/114 village peoples  by SOND employees today (06.01.2022). In this program peoples are given clear explanation about the usage of the stoves and also about the carbon reduction.  Some of its records can be seen in the pictures.

Training Session

A Training session was held yesterday (04.01.2022) for the students of Driberg College, Chavakacheri on the topic Disciplinary life of a student.
Mr. S. Senthurajah, Executive Director of SOND and Ms. Jency Victor Baby, Documentation Officer participated as resource persons. See some of its records in pictures

 

 

Meeting to Select Beneficiaries in Cook Stove Project

A discussion to select the beneficiaries regarding the selection of beneficiaries in cookstove project was held for Grama Servants in Nallur Divisional Secretariat Hall under the leadership of Nallur Divisional Secretary. In the pictures, SOND Executive Director Mr. S. Senthurajah gives explanations about the project and the criteria for beneficiary selection.
In the first phase, 100 beneficiaries have been selected in Nallur and Jaffna regions and the scheme will be implemented across Sri Lanka by SOND with the help of C Quest from March.
